Flight of 9
North Queensland, in 1944. An island off the Australian coast has given the Japanese a vantage point to take over Australia. If the Japanese take over the island it will allow them to have a steppingstone straight into Australia, the Japanese have already set up an airstrip and battleships in the Bay, slowly building the artillery and power to start attacking Australia from the North. A reconnaissance flight has recovered the exact location of the Battleships and Airstrip, it is the mission to Bomb and destroy these targets, failure will result in Australia having to surrender to the Japanese forces. A small dedicated team of B17 Bombers and a handful of escort Spitfires have been assigned to this mission, The island is just within the Range of the bombers, but if too much time is wasted circling back the fuel load will not allow the return of the aircraft to base, its up to the pilots to be accurate and focus on the destination, ignoring all the distractions. There will be several swarms of Japanese fighters at intervals, they are highly maneuverable and deadly to B17 Bombers, they must be taken down before they take out the Bombers. Mission starts off on the airstrip in North Queensland, with the other Bombers already airborne, and escorts taking off in front, following the escorts is important as they will guide the mission. Waypoint markers will also guide if players become to wayward.
